Our Positions

Although non-partisan, The League of Women Voters of Volusia County studies many local issues. For supported state-wide issues, see the LWVF website. For national issues, scroll down to: All Volusia County Subscribed Positions. See also LWVUS' Impact on Issues which is designed to help League leaders use LWVUS public policy positions effectively at the state and local levels.

Below is the current list of positions taken on local issues, as re-adopted at the LWVVC General Meeting, May 16, 2020:

What is a Position?

The League of Women Voters takes action on an issue only when we have a position addressing that particular issue. Members must study and come to consensus on an issue, in order to form a position. This thorough grassroots process ensures that our advocacy is well considered by a broad range of people, understood by our members, and we have a sense of the political environment.
