Do courts make decisions based on politics—or the Constitution? Many Americans struggle to distinguish between political questions and constitutional ones, often misinterpreting judicial rulings through a partisan lens. This insightful lecture will clarify the courts’ role in our democracy, exploring how judges interpret the Constitution and where their authority begins and ends when addressing matters of law versus policy.

Join veteran educator Don Sarro, with over 30 years of experience teaching U.S. Government and History, as he breaks down key theories of constitutional interpretation, including originalism and living constitutionalism. You’ll come away with a deeper understanding of the judicial branch and its crucial role in upholding constitutional principles.

Don Sarro currently teaches A.P. and Honors Government at University High School and holds advanced degrees in both education and social science.
