We will have a brief business meeting in which we will pass a budget, elect new Board members, design our advocacy program for next year, and hear from Kay Maxwell, LWVCT 100th Anniversary Committee Chairperson, about the wonderful upcoming plans.

The League of Women Voters of Litchfield County and Litchfield Historical Society will host Secretary of State Denise Merrill for a lecture titled "Connecticut Voting Laws... an embarrassment?" where she will explain the complicated steps which would have to be taken to change voting rules in Connecticut and address the debate this past year about absentee voting changes due to the coronavirus pandemic.

For the upcoming 2021 local elections, we are using VOTE411.org to get important election information to residents around the state. By Election Day 2021, VOTE411 will have ballot information for over 40 local government elections across the state, with a goal of covering all 169 local government races by 2025. All participants - adults and students - will be expected to read and prepare the Harvard Business School case on secession and come ready to discuss and debate it.
