The powerful, 40 minute documentary Suppressed 2020: The Fight to Vote tackles the voter suppression during Stacey Abram’s midterm run in Georgia in 2018. Following a screening of a segment of the film, moderator Angela Rae and panelist Celina Stewart discuss the history of suppression in the US for Black voters, how that connects to the 2018 Georgia campaign, and what is happening now. Political strategist Celina Stewart reflects on voter advocacy and her own work breaking down barriers for Black voters with the League of Women Voters.
