The Electoral College is a puzzling system that often has people scratching their heads about how it works and why we use it.

Join us for a history of the Electoral College, discussion of impact on our democracy, and a plan for change.

The League of Women Voters US has had a position to abolish the electoral college in favor of a one person-one vote system for more than 50 years. It is a non-partisan effort that will benefit all voters in our nation.

Rosemary Heilemann is a 40-year member of the League of Women Voters of Illinois and a founding member of the LWVIL Electoral College Committee. She lives in Buffalo Grove and is a member of the LWV Deerfield/Lincolnshire.
