WHY THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS?
Why is the League the place to work for democracy?
Mary joined the League in 1977 when she was looking for something more in the work world. She became very active in the League of Women Voters of Seattle, rising to become President in 1989- 91. She served on the state Board in the early 1990s, and undertook some contract gigs for LWVWA including work on a public outreach plan that transformed King County Metro Transit’s community relations.
Her work with LWVWA includes Voter Services Chair, Debates Coordinator and Program Chair. Mary notes, “the League is an amazing organization. I’m so proud to be part of it.”
