We are gearing up for our second annual Defending Democracy fundraiser honoring Women's History Month on March 24, 2025. Building on our very successful -- and fun! -- pilot program last year, the festival and fundraiser will be held at the Cinema Art Theater in Lewes and will feature another great reception, two raffles (both swag and a 50/50), and films celebrating the courage and resilience of American women in defending and advancing America's democracy.
More info will be coming soon. In the meantime, Lisa Welle Malone and Donna Davis are leading the planning committee, and they will be looking for a few good members to help out! If you have experience or know-how in fundraising, or if you just want to help out the Sussex LWV, meet some of your fellow members, and have a little fun, read on!

- Day of Event Staffing - We are in need of about 12 volunteers to make our Film Festival Fundraiser event a huge $ucce$$. You will be notified of your assignment by March 16, but assignments can change prior to the event. Jobs: welcome table (2), set and clean up food (3), sell 50/50 raffle tickets (1), sell raffle tickets for assorted items(1-2) Help unload cars (1-2) as needed (2).
- Pre-Event Raffle Hunters - Last year's raffle raised more than $700. Our goal this year is $1,000. Donations from area businesses are essential to reach this goal. Donna Davis and Lisa Malone will provide training that will include a suggested list of businesses to seek donations, review of the solicitation letter, talking points, and a timeline.
