When accessing the membership portal, the first step is to enter your email address which is (or will be) associated with your membership. You will be sent a verification code to enter the code into the form. You do not need a password.
Once you've joined, you can access portal.lwv.org at any time to fill in more information about yourself, or update your contact information if it changes.
