Join us as we celebrate the triumphs and struggles that led to the ratification of the 19th Amendment. This is a LIVE Virtual event from the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.
The presentation begins in the 1840s and will trace the roots of the women’s rights movement and the ultimate decision to pursue voting rights. You will experience the tactics of the suffragists; you will be immersed in the large-scale parades and White House picketing that defined the final years of the movement. The exhibit features two interactive exhibits to explore the campaigns and the debates that were used by the suffragists. The story culminates with the ratification of the 19th Amendment where you will be able to view Pennsylvania’s own copy of the amendment and trace its impact, including the push for equal rights that followed ratification in 1920.
