Professor Wolaver is actively developing undergraduate research opportunities in the social sciences for students through the Bucknell Institute for Public Policy. Her research interests include examining the effects of binge drinking on college GPA and study effort, and how different types of migration impact earnings. The main focus of her current research is on the impact of public funding of family planning services on sexual activity, contraceptive use, and pregnancies. Expanding each of these services does not change the rate of sexual activity, but does increase the consistency of contraception and decreases pregnancies.
