The League of Women Voters of the Lewisburg Area’s Educational Forum series will kick off the fall series with a hybrid presentation by Marc Steir, director of the Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center.  Keystone Research Center. His talk,“The Key Issue Dividing America: Threats to Democracy, Real or Perceived?will focus on strategies for a more prosperous and equitable Pennsylvania economy and the future of democracy in Pennsylvania.  Marc Stier has had a career as a writer, activist and non-profit leader.  His biography can be found here https://krc-pbpc.org/staff/marc-stier-phd/

The Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center (PBPC) is a nonpartisan, statewide policy research project of the Keystone Research Center that provides independent, credible analysis on state tax, budget and related policy matters with attention to the impact of policy proposals on working individuals and families. The meeting is open to members and the general public.  League membership is not required to participate in the program; all are welcome. No registration is required if you attend in person.

The meeting will be held as a hybrid meeting (in person and virtual) on Tuesday, September 20 2022, at 12 o’clock noon, at La Primavera Restaurant, 2593 Old Turnpike Road, Lewisburg, PA  17837 and virtually on the Zoom meeting platform. 

A $15.50 buffet lunch will be served at La Primavera beginning at 11:30.  The program will begin at noon.  No registration is required if you attend in person.

For those who cannot attend in person, a virtual option will allow observation of the meeting.  The Zoom meeting room will open at 11:30 a.m., and individuals should sign into the virtual meeting room no later than 11:45 to ensure they admittance and correct settings.  Virtual participants will be able to submit questions in the chat function, but will be muted and unable to interact directly with others.  

Those wishing to participate virtually, i.e. via Zoom, must send an indication of their plans to attend remotely, requesting a link to the meeting, by emailing LWVLAForum [at] gmail.com no later than Sunday, September 18.
