Why We Should Abolish the Electoral College.....
and How To Do It

Produced by the State and Local Leagues of Illinois

Presented by Carol Jensen

The electoral college was originally established in the constitution as a compromise between election of the President by a vote in Congress and election of the President by a popular vote of qualified citizens. The college played a key role in the presidential elections of 2000 and 2016.

Carol Jensen spent over 20 years in TV journalism anchoring the local news; with 13 years in Sacramento and over 6 years in Portland, Oregon, where she won numerous awards including a regional Emmy award for specialty reporting. Her journalism roots have fueled her interest in politics and the impact it has on local communities and the people and families that live there. Early in her career, she became aware of the League of Women Voters and had the opportunity to host and MC a number of League events both in Sacramento and Portland. Carol now lives in Menlo Park with her husband and children.

Dinner $30.00
