The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government. It influences public policy through education and advocacy.

COVID-19 has caused significant delays and disruptions to census operations which is why the Bureau has requested the extended household counting operations through October 31, 2020. But recently, the U.S. Census Bureau, announced it would be ending census operations on September 30, 2020.

Responses to the 2020 Census are critically important. The U.S Census Bureau is tracking self-response rates nationwide to help ensure a complete and accurate count. It can help LWV members know where they can get the word out where needed. Delaware's response rate, as of April 15, is a bit below the national average. THE CENSUS: Your Invitation to Respond. If you haven’t responded yet, it is not too late! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Census Bureau has extended deadlines to keep its workers and the public safe. The new deadline for self-response is August 14.
