Rank Choice Voting discussion at LWV of Manitowoc
7 p.m., Nov. 11 presentation at Manitowoc City Hall and live-streamed
Sara Eskrich, executive director of Democracy Found, a Wisconsin-based nonpartisan initiative, will lead the presentation about Rank Choice Voting at 7 p.m. Nov. 11 in the City Council Chambers in Manitowoc City Hall, 900 Quay St.
Eskrich will review the lessons learned elsewhere to help inform all how Rank Choice Voting could change elections in Wisconsin. Rank Choice Voting allows voters to rank candidates and tallies votes with an immediate runoff until a single candidate gets a true majority of 51% or greater.
Alaska and Maine have used Rank Choice Voting in statewide primary and federal elections. More than two dozen cities in 17 states have used the process for local elections. The two major political parties have used it in leadership elections.
