Juneteenth is a holiday commemorating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States. It started in Galveston, Texas and is now celebrated every year on June 19th across the United States.
Ways to celebrate:
- Support Black-owned shops and restaurants.
- Donate to and/or volunteer with organizations that support Black communities such as the ACLU, NAACP, The Bail Project and others.
- Spread the word about Juneteenth.
- Celebrate Juneteenth in your community.
