The fight for public education continues, as the State Supreme Court is again hearing oral arguments in the Leandro School Funding Case. Despite the landmark victory for public school funding in 2022, a change in the political makeup of the courts has prompted an unprecedented and unjust rehearing of the case. Jeanne Smith of LWVNC's Education Action Team joined Every Child NC for this day of action in Raleigh on Feb. 22, 2024, where North Carolinians from the mountains to the ocean demanded that our children finally receive the sound, basic education promised to them in our state's constitution.
