Guest Speaker, Dr Pam Carbiener
Pam Carbiener came to Florida from Arlington, VA where she cared for women who were malnourished, cocaine dependent, and sick with many diseases. She moved to Volusia determined to care for all women, regardless of their economic, social, or insurance status. Since moving here, Carbiener has seen care for women and babies deteriorate locally, and nationwide. Serving on many boards, she made a difference for women’s reproductive health. Now Dr. Carbiener is president of the board for Healthy Start, on the board of Bert Fish foundation, and she participates in state organizations for women’s health through USF and FSU.
Dr. Carbiener brought FSU College of Medicine regional campus to Daytona Beach. Her focus has been to provide care to pregnant women with mental health and substance issues. This fall, Dr. Carbiener is opening an Easy Access Clinic for all pregnant women on Keech Street.
