Structural Engineer

Vik Verma, P.E. is the Chair for the Broadband Section of the 2024 ASCE Wisconsin Section Infrastructure Report Card. Previously, he served as a member of the Dams Section of the 2021 ASCE Wisconsin Section Infrastructure Report Card. Vik has been an active member of ASCE for 25 years in both Texas and Wisconsin. Previously, he has served as President of the ASCE Northeast Texas Branch, Vice-President – Professional of the ASCE Texas Section, Chair of the ASCE. as Strategic Planning Committee, and other leadership roles within ASCE. Vik is currently employed as a Structural Engineer with Bassett Mechanical in Kaukauna, Wisconsin and is a licensed professional engineer in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Davis, a Master of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University, and a Master of Business
Administration from The University of Texas at Tyler.

greg schroederGreg Schroeder, PE
Former Chief Engineer

Greg has a B.S. degree in Civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He spent three years doing environmental engineering for Camp, Dresser and McKee in Milwaukee, Racine, Detroit and Louisville before completing his M.S. in Civil engineering from Marquette University. He did further course work in theology from Trinity University. Greg started working for Wisconsin Gas in 1983 and retired from gas engineering work in 2021. During his time at Wisconsin Gas, Greg was the chief engineer for the Mequon, Wisconsin water utility in the early years of its development. During his career in gas engineering, he saw the merger and rebranding of Wisconsin Gas to We Energies and the mergers that evolved into WEC Energy Group. Greg served as newsletter editor and past president for the Southeast Branch of the Wisconsin Section of ASCE. Greg serves as the Public Affairs Chairman of the Wisconsin Section ASCE. Greg was the energy chapter author and chair for the previous energy chapter of the Wisconsin Infrastructure Report Card. He attended the 2019 ASCE legislative fly-in in Washington D.C. He attended the World Environmental and Water Resources Congress in Milwaukee, WI in 2024. Greg served as Board member, Secretary, Vice President and President of STEM Forward, southeast Wisconsin’s premier K-12 STEM organization. Greg also participated in Milwaukee’s STEM EXPO and the Future Cities competitions.

alyssa kenneyAlyssa Kenney
State Broadband & Digital Equity Director, Public Service Commission of WI

Alyssa Kenney is the State Broadband and Digital Equity Director for the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin. At the Commission since 2019, Alyssa manages the talented team that coordinates the BEAD and Digital Equity program along with numerous state and federal broadband grant programs, the Wisconsin Broadband Map, the State Universal Service Fund and numerous projects and initiatives that support a more connected Wisconsin. Before coming to the Commission Alyssa served as the executive director of a digital equity and community technology focused non-profit. She serves vice-chair of the Wisconsin Educational Communications Board and serves as Governor Evers designee on the FCC’s Intergovernmental Advisory Committee. Alyssa is a proud University of Wisconsin-Madison alumna and longtime Wisconsin resident. She was named a Top 25 Doer, Dreamer, and Drivers by Government Technology in 2023. She is passionate about solving wicked problems and connecting people to each other (mostly through great broadband).

 

greg levesqueGreg Levesque
Vice President, American Transmission Company

Greg Levesque is vice president of external affairs and communications with American Transmission Company (ATC), overseeing policy, government affairs, real estate, environmental, customer relations, interconnection services, local relations, and corporate communications. Greg began his career with ATC in 2003 and has more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry. Since joining ATC, he has overseen several related departments. Prior to his current role he was director of corporate communications, policy, and strategy. Before joining ATC, Greg worked as a regulatory analyst at law firms in Madison and Chicago. He holds a B.A. in history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin School of Business. Outside of his ATC duties, Greg serves on the community board of directors for the Clean Lakes Alliance in Madison and the American Cancer Society Coaches vs. Cancer board of ambassadors.

Executive Vice President, WEC Energy Group

Dan Krueger was named executive vice president in November 2018 and executive vice president — WEC Infrastructure and generation planning in 2019.

In this role, Krueger is responsible for developing utility and nonutility infrastructure expansion plans including identifying, developing and managing nonutility infrastructure investments. He has executive responsibility for Fuel Supply, leading the development and implementation of market resource strategies to minimize the net cost of serving the energy needs of WEC Energy Group customers.  He also is responsible for maintaining relationships with the company’s largest commercial and industrial
customers.  

In addition, Krueger oversees market activities for both electric and natural gas assets.  This includes interactions with the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), an integrated regional nonprofit entity that operates the bulk power transmission system and associated energy market. He also is responsible for gas supply planning, storage and operations for all of the WEC Energy Group local distribution companies.

Krueger joined Wisconsin Energy Corp. in 2014, serving as vice president — Wisconsin Electric Power Co. His responsibilities included long-term strategy for performance of the We Energies electric generating assets and fuel handling capabilities. He also served a key role in completing the Integrys acquisition and in planning for integration of the companies. He more recently served as senior vice president — wholesale energy and fuels, since 2015.

Previously, Krueger was with Accenture from 1987 to 2014, leading the successful development of that company’s global advisory business in power generation, fuels and power markets.

Krueger earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1987.
