Calling all League members, you are invited to go to Harrisburg May 5 to lobby our local legislators. the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania (LWVPA) will give you the LWV T-shirt, the talking points, a lunch voucher and the map of Pennsylvania's stunningly ornate capitol. It's worth the trip just to see it.

Legislative Advocate Jodine Mayberry will make appointments with four legislators to visit and will arrange transportation.

LWVPA is hoping for a really good turnout this year. We will be talking about elections, gun safety, health, and environmental issues with our legislators.

Of special interest is HB 270, the newly introduced bill to join many other states in the National Popular Vote Initiative, to elect our presidents by popular vote, bypassing the Electoral College. NPVI and abolishing the Electoral College are priorities for LWVUS, the national League.

• When: Monday, May 5, 2025, beginning at 9:30 AM (light breakfast provided) also a Press Conference at 12:00 PM

• Where: Capitol Building, Harrisburg, PA

• Why: To advocate for League legislative priorities and show our power in Harrisburg; the State League will provide talking points and materials to leave behind
