Action and Advocacy

Polling Place

We are truly a grassroots organization...

The League of Women Voters takes action on an issue or advocates for a cause when there is an existing League position that supports the issue or speaks to the cause.

Positions result from a process of study. Any given study, whether it be National, State, or Local, is thorough in its pursuit of facts and details. After study and discussion, the League reaches a consensus as to its position on the issue and isues a consensus statement that it then uses as the basis for its public statements and actions on the issue.

Current Issues

LWV-CDC is involved in advocating for new voting machines with hand-marked paper ballots to protect our election system from hacking, election law reform, fair election districts, criminal justice, a county health department,, pipeline safety and adolescent sleep health.
