Delco Youth Voter

The Delco Youth Voter Initiative is a collaboration of nonpartisan organizations working to promote voting and civic engagement among the youth in Delaware County.

A Nonpartisan Voter Information and Registration Coalition

Coalition Partners Include: LWV of Central Delaware County; LWV of Radnor Township; PA Youth Vote; NAACP Media Branch; NAACP Chester Branch; and Delaware County Bureau of Elections.

The initial funding for this initiative was given to the League of Women Voters of Central Delaware County from the League of Women Voters Education Fund (LWVEF) for the 2025 Young Voter Registration project to undertake voter registration activities at high schools, community colleges, and/or technical and vocational schools.

Overview of 2026 High School Seniors Project:

Goal:  To provide an opportunity for all 2026 graduates of Delaware County Public Schools to register to vote. NOTE: The Delco Youth Voter Initiative is nonpartisan.

What: Envelopes with registration forms and applications for mail in-ballots as well as resources for on-line registration and election resources. 

When: During graduation rehearsal of each high school as attendance is mandated.

Where: Venue where graduation rehearsal or related senior class activity is held.

Who: LWV members and volunteers prepare and deliver materials in envelopes to point-person at each participating high school. Previous graduates, other youth, respected teachers, and/or LWV volunteers provide (Brief 10 -15 min) overview of process.

How: Envelopes are given to seniors as they practice accepting their diplomas. Eligible students follow up as motivated. This is a nonpartisan voter registration process.

Scope: 15 Public School Districts = Over 5600 Senior Class Students
