Join us for the Hot Topic: Have our Election Procedures Changed and How Secure Are They? on Friday, September 18, 2026 at Noon via Zoom. 

The program will feature James Allen, Director Delaware County Bureau of Elections. He will share how Delaware County Elections are Free, Fair and Secure and will highlight how they are safeguarded from “rigging” or fraud. 

In Delaware County, we have come out of the chaos of the 2020 election and established systems that are as secure as the humans and the laws of Pennsylvania can make them. Much of that is due to the expertise and professionalism of Allen and the systems of the Delaware County Bureau and Board of Elections.

Learn how all of the Trump Administration efforts in the last year have changed our election processes, and spoiler alert, the answer is: plenty. Jim will discuss the importance of verifiable evidence and auditable paper trails – the key reasons that frivolous lawsuits by election deniers fail, year after year.

Explanations will be shared on how:

• The new U.S. Postal Service rules will affect mail-in balloting.
• Election security in each state comes down to the individual counties. 
• Voting machines are tested and used to ensure accuracy.
• Poll workers are trained and go through extensive training every election.
• Voting rolls are managed and updated regularly to remove dead voters – as well as those who have moved.
• Poll workers are trained and go through extensive training every election.
• Mail-in ballots are managed (issued, received and tracked).
• The ballots and the V-drives removed from each scanner are received, stored and protected each election – and how there is a paper trail for every vote cast and how the scanners are secure and not connected to the web.
• Election ballots are safeguarded and audited. The Return Board hand-counts a random 2% of the precincts to ensure machine accuracy, and how the State performs a Risk Limiting Audit.
• Delco tends to see 95% of the results reported by the 11 o’clock news.
