The League of Women Voters of North Carolina is joining with its partners Common Cause NC and the NAACP to encourage our members and all North Carolinians to "Pack the Court Against Racial Gerrymandering!"
From Common Cause:
We're taking the lawless NC legislature to court for rigging voting maps against the people of North Carolina — a scheme that unjustly comes at the expense of Black voters, especially. It's time to sound the alarm. Are you with us?
Our federal trial against gerrymandered maps starts on Monday, June 16, in a federal courthouse in Winston-Salem, and we're calling on YOU to join us in packing the court. In the wake of our successful campaign against corrupt politicians like Jefferson Griffin, it's more important than ever that judges know that we the people are watching.
RSVP today to join us for the trial's first day*. We'll share more details about what to expect once you sign up!
*Please note: the schedules and timing of federal trials are subject to change. We expect the entire trial to last around 1-2 weeks. We'll keep you up-to-date every step of the way!
