The League of Women Voters of Delaware County will have a voter information and environmental resources exhibit table on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:15 PM at the Delaware County Sustainability Conference being held at the Lazaretto Ballroom 99 Wanamaker Ave, Essington, PA 19029

The Delaware County Office of Sustainability will be hosting the 4th Annual Delaware County Sustainability Conference the week of June 9th – 14th, 2025, as a hybrid event in response to the evolving needs of our community.

On Saturday, June 14, the League of Women Voters is coming together in partnership with democracy-focused organizations to rally against the increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption within our government at the national level.

In Delaware County this NO KINGS rally is a national day of peaceful action and mass mobilization from Noon to 1:00 PM in front of the Delaware County Courthouse, 201 W. Front Street, Media.

Delaware County Pride Festival

Our League of Women Voters (LWV) will have a voter information available on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Delaware County Pride Festival being held from 1:00 PM from 6:00 PM at Upper Darby Township Building, 100 Garrett Road Upper Darby, PA 19082. Our LWV will be sharing a table with Fair Districts PA/Delco.

The festival will feature a variety of activities that involve all ages, kid-friendly activities, interactive games, live music, DJs, dancing, face painting, nail painting, and other fun activities. This festival is FREE to the community with no admission charge.

Our Event Management Committee is holding an event planning meeting on Tuesday, June 17, at 7:00 PM via Zoom. ALL members of our League of Women Voters of Central Delaware County are invited to this meeting. We are looking for suggestions for topics, speakers and programs for the year (September - December) and (January -June).

SAVE ACT
News

OPPOSE the SAVE ACT. If enacted, the SAVE Act is a highly restrictive national photo ID bill. It includes a requirement that in order to vote, all voters produce a valid, government issued, photo ID, such as Real ID card, a passport, or a military ID. All would require a photo AND a statement of birthplace, proving citizenship.

Letter to Congress

On February 14, 2025 the 105th anniversary of its founding, the League of Women Voters sent a letter to Congressional leadership regarding the organization's grave concern over the state of our nation. Specifically, the League writes to urge Congress to exercise its authority to protect the rule of law, defend the Constitution, and end the overreach that the Executive Branch has shown in the last few weeks. The attached letter outlines our concerns and is signed by leadership from every state League and DC affiliate in the country.
