Join League of Women Voters members from our region to Celebrate Our Constitution on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM by touring Historic Summerseat, the home of two of the signers of our Constitution. Summerseat, also known as the George Clymer House and Thomas Barclay House, served as the Headquarters of General George Washington from December 8th to 14th, 1776.

Few homes in America have been owned by or occupied by such important actors of the eighteenth century as Summerseat. It was built in 1765 and owned by two signers of both the Declaration of Independence and the American Constitution - Robert Morris and George Clymer. It was also used as the headquarters of General George Washington in December 1776 when he planned his historic crossing of the Delaware, and the victory at Trenton, a turning point in the American Revolution. Learn the lessons of our history and gain inspiration for today.

This special League of Women Voters member only event serves to help commemorate Constitution Day and the signing of the U.S. Constitution by thirty-nine brave men on September 17, 1787.  This special day also recognizes all who are born in the U.S. or by naturalization that have become citizens!

Take a stand for our US Constitution!
