Our 2024 Gathering: Celebrating Our League is being held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 as an in-person event at The Springhaven Club 600 S Providence Rd, Wallingford. We are scheduled to begin the celebration at 11:30 AM with lunch served at Noon in the Large Dining Room which allows for social distancing while enjoying our luncheon celebration. 

We will ring in the New Year with a focus on the 2024 election year by celebrating the work of our League and the mission to Empower Voters and Defend Democracy. Our foremothers led the fight in 1920 for the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which states - “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex”. These League of Women Voters (LWV) warriors rooted the League movement in a demand for women’s equality before the law. The right to vote came to be seen as the key that would unlock the door to other rights.

The LWV of Central Delaware County wants to recognize the hard work of our members leading up to the 2024 Election in registering voters, conducting candidates’ forums, participating in get-out-the-vote and voter information activities, holding issue-related events, supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion with partner organizations, and promoting Vote411.org throughout Delaware County.
