Our Holiday Gathering: 2022 Celebration of Our League is being held as an in-person event on Saturday, December 17 at The Springhaven Club 600 S Providence Rd, Wallingford. We are scheduled to begin the celebration at 11:30 AM with lunch served at Noon in the Large Dining Room which allows for social distancing while enjoying our luncheon celebration. 

Our plan is to celebrate the work of our League and the mission to Empower Voters and Defend Democracy. Our foremothers led the fight in 1920 for the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which states - “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex”. These League of Women Voters (LWV) warriors rooted the League movement in a demand for women’s equality before the law. The right to vote came to be seen as the key that would unlock the door to other rights.

The LWV of Central Delaware County wants to recognize the hard work of our members leading up to the 2022 Midterm Election in registering voters, stageing candidates’ forums, participating in get-out-the-vote events, advancing the Voter Engagement Coalition and the League policy supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion with partner organizations in Chester City, holding four election-related Hot Topics programs plus promoting Vote411.org throughout Delaware County in collaboration with the Delaware County Library System.
