The Hot Topic - Legal Aspects of Health Care for Seniors will be presented on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Noon via Zoom. This presentation by Jennifer Simons, an associate attorney,  from the law firm McAndrews, Mehalick, Connolly, Hulse and Ryan, P.C. will feature advance directives, financial arrangements that people should consider (generally), estate planning, power of attorney, and POLST (Physician Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment). 

As you grow older, your needs and objectives change. Your financial arrangements, tax strategies, estate plans, medical provisions and legal safeguards should reflect your shifting goals and lifestyle.

Learn about end-of-life decisions and how to put this in your own hands through healthcare directives. You choose the care you want to receive should you become incapacitated or terminally ill and in an end-stage medical condition. A power of attorney allows you to name someone you trust to make crucial decisions if you are no longer able to do so. 

Ms. Simons will share her expertise in areas of practice including estate planning, special needs trusts, elder law, guardianship and estate administration. Jennifer regularly provides seminars to fellow professionals and advocacy groups on estate planning issues, and her work has been published in the leading journal for Pennsylvania attorneys.
