A Prescription from the Grassroots: Action is the Antidote to Despair is the Hot Topic presentation on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Noon via Zoom. The presenter is Dr. Lisa Goldstein, a practicing psychiatrist and a grassroots activist, who will explore strategies for surviving, thriving and resisting in 2025 and into the future. She draws on evidence based mental health strategies and the work of experts in authoritarianism.

Dr. Goldstein will help us learn why and how to: breathe, accept uncertainty and accept reality, be human (not perfect), be grateful, believe in truth, consume facts, be safe, and most importantly how to take action - both political action and personal action, individually and in community. The ultimate goal is to live the life we have as we fight for a better future.

Lisa Goldstein, MD is a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist living and practicing in Delaware County. In 2020 she opened her home for GOTV (Get Out the Vote). Dubbed "the Democracy Garage," volunteers dropped literature on more than 30,000 doors from her driveway.  In 2022, after Roe was overturned, she joined a new group of vocal physician advocates and became one of the founders of Physicians for a Healthy Pennsylvania. She is an elected member of the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee. She co-founded the grassroots resistance group, Indivisible Main Line South.

The presentation is FREE but to receive the link to the Zoom Hot Topic via email you MUST register. You can submit questions for Dr. Goldstein in advance with your registration.
