The League of Women Voters of Delaware County is a sponsor of the Vigil to Protect Voting Rights being held on Friday, August 6th, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at the Delaware County Courthouse steps located at 201 W Front Street, Media. This is an outside event.

August 6th, 2021 is the 56th Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act being signed into law. Fast forward 56 years and now in 2021 the League of Women Voters once again is fighting against voter suppression laws and strongly encourages the passage of legislation that protects our democracy and your right to vote in free, fair and secure elections for all. 

Speakers include Congresswomen Mary Gay Scanlon, representatives of the League of Women Voters of Delaware County (Central Delaware County and Radnor Township); the NAACP Media Branch; Delaware County Black Caucus; and New Pennsylvania Project.
