Webinar - Amplifying Democracy: The 26th Amendment and the Power of Young Voters will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 5:00 PM. Join the League of Women Voters US and partners for a virtual panel discussion on the 26th Amendment which made the voting age 18 and the game-changing influence of young voters in America.

Ratified on July 1, 1971, the 26th Amendment opens a new window to the U.S. Constitution extended the right to vote to all Americans aged 18 and older by lowering the federal voting age from 21. Section 1 of the 26th Amendment reads as follows:

The right of citizens of the United States, who are 18 years of age or older, to vote, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state on account of age.

Hear from on-the-ground organizers as we explore how youth empowerment has reshaped the political landscape and how we can bring more diverse young voices into our work.
