What Is Our Children's Education Worth?

Public School Funding
Thursday, February 24, 2022 - 12:00pm

Join us for the Hot Topic: What Is Our Children's Education Worth? on Thursday, February 24, 2022  at Noon via Zoom. Our League of Women Voters of Central Delaware County will present long-time Delaware County school board members from two districts to discuss the school funding lawsuit and other education issues.

All children in Pennsylvania have a right to a high-quality public education, as granted by the State Constitution, regardless of their zip code. Nevertheless, Pennsylvania state funding disparities between wealthy and poor public school districts have grown over the years.  The Education Law Center and the Public Interest Law Center, representing 6 Pennsylvania school districts and others, have sued the state in an attempt to correct those disparities.

The presenters are:

Jennifer Hoff, former William Penn School Board President and current board member, has been intimately involved with the state lawsuit since her district is one of the lawsuit plaintiffs.

Larry Feinberg, current Vice-President and past President of the Haverford Township Board of School Directors, has served on the board since 1999.  He has been involved in both the Pennsylvania School Boards Association and the National School Boards Association for over a decade.

The Hot Topic presentation is FREE but to receive the Zoom link via email you MUST REGISTER. You can submit questions for the presenters in advance with your registration.
