2020 LWVWI Virtual Annual Meeting

Thank you to everyone who participated in LWVWI's 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting.

In lieu of the LWVWI’s cancelled in-person 2020 Annual Meeting, the state League held a virtual Annual Meeting of League members and friends of the League on Saturday, June 13th, 10:00am - 11:30am on Zoom, a web conferencing platform.

This year’s virtual Annual Meeting was designed to answer questions related to voting issues, present the annual Meg McLane Advocacy Aqard and Membership and Leadership Development Awards, share reports by board committees and issue coalitions, and give thanks to all members and friends of the League for their amazing work and support over the past year. 2020 LWVWI Annual Meeting Vote Results

Voting by written ballot for the 2020 Annual Meeting concluded on June 26. Thank you to voting delegates for taking part in the League’s important annual business.

Our quorum was met with ballots received from voting delegates representing over one-third of our local Leagues, and by our receipt of 100 ballots returned out of a total of 135 sent out.

All voting issues were adopted by unanimous voteincluding the following:

  • 2019 LWVWI Annual Meeting minutes
  • LWVUS Making Democracy Work and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives for FY 2020-21
  • LWVWI current positions for FY 2020-21
  • LWVWI budget for FY 2020-21
  • The election of all LWVWI nominees for FY 2020-21.

Welcoming New Leadership
 

LWVWI welcomes both Frab Garb (LWV Winnebago County) and Anne Chartier (LWV Ashland/Bayfield Counties) to the LWVWI State Board. We wish Board President Louise Petering (LWV Milwaukee County) a successful term, with the assistance of Melanie Ramey, (LWV Dane County) as Vice President. We also welcome Treasurer Debra Byars, a Member at Large, and Directors Sara Companik (LWV Appleton) and Dorothy Skye (LWV Northwoods) into their renewed terms.

We are grateful for the continuing service of board Secretary Beth English (LWV Appleton) and Directors Joy Cardin (LWV Dane County) and T. Ruth Shank (LWV Milwaukee County). We also wish the new nominating committee members Barbara Paterick (Chair, LWV Greater Green Bay) and Jennifer Balma (LWV Manitowoc County) all the best in their new positions.
