Matt Rothschild, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, will discuss the effect of partisan gerrymandering on representative government, how Wisconsin’s current redistricting process impacts the constitutional rights of voters, and why a new nonpartisan model will produce fairer maps.

Erin Grunze, Executive Director of the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, will speak about the League’s longtime advocacy of redistricting reform measures, the latest developments in Wisconsin’s Gill v. Whitford case before the U.S. Supreme Court, and why voters are demanding legislative action on nonpartisan redistricting.

Tara Johnson, La Crosse County Board Chair representing the 29th district, will share perspectives on how gerrymandering affects local governance and policy making, and why the Fair Maps advisory referendum is gaining traction with Wisconsin voters.

Co-hosted by League of Women Voters of La Crosse Area, Driftless Voter Coalition, and Vernon Friends of Fair Maps. Co-sponsored by Fair Elections Project, Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, and Common Cause WI.
