November 4: California Special Election
On August 21, 2025, the state legislature called a special election for California voters to decide on a single proposition. Proposition 50 would allow for the adoption of new congressional maps that were laid out in a separate bill passed by the Legislature. The current congressional districts, drawn by the Citizens Redistricting Commission after the last census, would be bypassed until the commission draws new boundary lines in 2031.
