Join our 2020 Politicos on Parade supporters and advertisers for a vintage re-enactment street march and pre-curtain champagne toast, on Opening Night of the original stageplay of LADIES TAKING LIBERTY at the Athens Theatre in DeLand on Tuesday, November 2. This special event celebrates both the Suffrage movement and the 100th anniversary of the League of Women Voters, with a short street march that ends at the theatre. Tickets on sale now >>

AT 6:30 pm ... Staging for the short, block-long "Suffrage March" will originate at the corner of Woodland Blvd and West Indiana Avenue (ending at the Athens Theatre). Participants are encouraged to cosplay with vintage and period pieces, or wear all white or all black street clothes, or branded League wear. Suffrage-related (only!) banners, flags and nonpartisan signs are welcome.

At 7:00 pm ... Ticket holders will enjoy a pre-curtain champagne toast on Opening Night of Ladies Taking Liberty, an original stageplay by Deborah McShane.

The Athens requires mask use within the Theatre, throughout all performances.

PRE-Pandemic: Every election year, Politicos on Parade gave citizens an informal and fun opportunity to interact with elected officials. Since 1998, that sell-out biennial fashion show presented the business community with unique brand exposure through real-time visibility at the exclusive luncheon, along with extended web presence long after the event has concluded.
