In response to an effort by many to gain a day of recognition for the great influence American Indians have had upon the U.S., Congress designated a week of October to celebrate Native American Awareness Week in 1976.
There will be one day of ceremonies each month from October 2021 through September 2022. All of the ceremonies will be held at the RiverCentre in St. Paul, with numerous 15-20 minute ceremonies accommodating about 65 citizens each.
