Register for Domestic Terrorism in the US and Minnesota
Josh Horwitz, co-author of "Guns, Democracy, and the Insurrectionist Idea," will speak via Zoom Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at 4 pm CDT on the topic Domestic Terrorism in the U.S. and Minnesota. Also speaking will be John Choi, Ramsey County Attorney who will provide local perspective on firearm issues and how they’re dealt with.
In the 21st century how do differing interpretations of the Second Amendment inform our concept of personal liberty and community? In his book Horwitz and his co-author examine the “insurrectionary fantasy” that guns are an appropriate tool of political dissent. What is the role of firearms in a pluralistic society?
Horwitz received a law degree from George Washington University and is currently a visiting scholar at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is Executive Director of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence and the Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence. He has spent nearly two decades working on gun violence prevention issues. He lives in Arlington, Virginia.
The event is free and open to the public. Registrants will receive a Zoom link via email shortly before the event.
