LWV La Crosse Area transitions to Club Express
With the launch of its new website, LWV La Crosse Area (LWVLA) became the first Wisconsin League to transition to ClubExpress, an association management system recommended to state and local Leagues by the LWVUS.
The LWVLA’s delegates were intrigued by the introduction to ClubExpress at the 2020 National Convention and the benefits it offered, including an attractive, custom-designed website with integrated software for managing membership, finances, events, document storage, photos and communication. After receiving enthusiastic reports from Leagues in other states already working with ClubExpress, a cost-benefit analysis and positive impressions from a hands-on trial, the LWVLA board decided to invest in the new system.
Over the next four months, small teams of LWVLA members focused on website development, guided by ClubExpress staff designated to work with League accounts. Uploading the member database came next, followed by customizing and using the calendar, setting up event registration and developing a newsletter template. They are currently organizing document and photo storage.
The new system went live just three weeks ago. At this early point in its ClubExpress experience, the LWVLA offers the following observations:
- Development required focused work from a small group, but efficiencies and improved organization are already being realized.
- Member feedback indicates the system is viewed as intuitive and user-friendly.
- ClubExpress tech support is helpful, knowledgeable and readily available.
- The integrated systems invite fresh thinking and new opportunities for member engagement.
- And members really like the cool new website!
