The U.S. Postal Service is accepting public comments on proposed regulations that would create new federal requirements for the handling of absentee and mail-in ballots in federal elections.

The League of Women Voters is concerned that these proposed changes could create new administrative burdens, delay ballot distribution, and potentially create barriers that prevent eligible voters from receiving and returning their ballots in time to be counted.
