LWV Orange, Durham and Chatham Counties will celebrate its 75th anniversary on Sept. 15 with a visit and talk by Deborah Turner, MD, JD, president of the League of Women Voters of the United States. She will speak about this moment for democracy in our country and the importance of the League during this time.
The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. The celebration will begin at 7 p.m. at the Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Black Culture and History on the campus of UNC-Chapel Hill (150 South Road). The League is honored that Dr. Turner will be visiting to mark this anniversary while rallying us all to recommit to LWV goals! For more information, email Jennifer Rubin at rubin [at] lwvnc.org.
