On March 19, the League of Women Voters of Milwaukee County will host a book club discussion around the book, Once I was You: A Memoir of Love and Hate in a Torn America, written by Maria Hinojosa.

In this book, author and Latinx trailblazer Maria Hinojosa reflects on the inspirations and intersections that led to writing her memoir. Once I Was You is an illuminating exploration of what it means to be a survivor, a feminist, a citizen, a journalist and an immigrant in America.
