League of Women Voters of Wisconsin Celebrates National Voter Registration Day Proclamation, Registers Voters at Events Across the State

National Voter Registration Day: Sept 17

MADISON – Today, the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin is celebrating the National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) Proclamation and working to register eligible voters. The nonpartisan civic holiday is dedicated to honoring our democracy. Local League volunteers and many partners around Wisconsin are holding registration events at libraries, college campuses and community spaces.

"We are thrilled that Gov. Evers has signed a proclamation recognizing this day and the importance of making sure every eligible Wisconsinite is registered to vote,” said Debra Cronmiller, Executive Director of the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin. “With the November 5 Election quickly approaching, this is a crucial time for voters to get registered and informed.”

Wisconsinites can visitMyVote.Wi.Gov to learn about voter eligibility, register to vote, update their address or check their voter registration status.

Since the NVRD kickoff in 2012, the holiday and its team of thousands of Partners have worked to get over 5 million Americans registered to vote in time for their next trip to the ballot box. NVRD is a nonpartisan effort that helps people across the country register to vote and check their registration status. Learn more.
