LWV Whitewater Area Hosts Program on Nicaraguan History

On February 16th, the Whitewater Area League hosted Dr. Claudia Rueda, Associate Professor of History at the College of Texas A&M Corpus Christi, to present on Nicaraguan history.

The Whitewater Area has recently welcomed a number of Nicaraguan immigrants, and the Whitewater League is doing its part to enhance the community’s understanding of the cultural and political environment these immigrants left behind. It’s all part of being better friends and neighbors not just to immigrants from Nicaragua, but to all immigrants who now call Wisconsin home.
