The League of Women Voters, Delta Sigma Theta and Alpha Kappa Alpha are non-partisan organizations. We do not endorse candidates or parties. For most of these open seats and districts (all but RD 8), there is no contested 2026 Republican Primary Election race in Delaware. The Republican Primary Candidates in RD 8 are Watara T.F. Heath (R) and Gary Taylor (R); we are unable to provide a forum for this race.
The forums will be presented via Zoom webinar or web conference. They will be recorded and the forum videos will be made available online in their entirely a few days after each forum.

Delaware's State Primary Election
The 2026 State Primary Election in Delaware will be held on Tuesday September 15, 2026.
Primary elections for Delaware's two major political parties: Democrats and Republicans. Primaries select these party's candidates for the November general election. Delaware has closed primaries; only registered voters from participating parties may vote for their party's candidates.
Polls will be open from 7am to 8pm on 9/15/2026. Delaware law also allows 10 days of early, in-person voting for the general and primary elections at selected locations in each county. This year, early voting for the Primary starts on 9/2/2026 and ends on 9/14/2026. Refer to the Delaware Department of Elections website for details.
Candidate information will be available on the League's VOTE411.org voter guide website starting on August 10, 2026.
Registration Deadline
You must register to vote before voting in Delaware primary or general elections. The deadline for new voters to register to vote in the 9/15/2026 State Primary election is August 22, 2026. The deadline for voters to switch party affiliation to vote in a different Primary has already passed (it was on May 29, 2026).
