Holiday Luncheon Highlights Celebrations and Challenges

Harper

More than 80 League members and guests enjoyed the Dec. 3 Holiday Luncheon at Orlando's.

President Angie Dunlap outlined the League's work in 2022. She praised Anne Sappington for her work on the Voters Guide and called out Nancy Price for 60 Speakes Bureau presentations this year.

Constance Harper, Vice President of Policy, Advocacy & Strategic Initiatives at the Deaconness Foundation, encouraged attendees to "Challenge What the Future Holds." She started by congratulating the League for the temporary injunction in our lawsuit against HB1878's restrictions on voter registration and absentee ballot solicitation. She said preserving the citizen initiative petition will be a top legislative priority for the foundation in 2023. A video of her inspiring talk is now available on the Members-Only Page.

We appreciate the many members who donated children's books for Ready Readers or made a financial donation to the League.
