Wisconsin

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, grassroots political organization established in 1920. We advocate for informed and active participation in government. The League welcomes anyone who wishes to improve our systems of government and impact public policies through education and advocacy.

The League does not support or oppose candidates for office at any level of government. At the same time, the League is wholeheartedly political. We work to influence policy through advocacy.

The League of Women Voters is an organization fully committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in principle and in practice, and believes there should be no barriers to participating in the League. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to the organization's current and future success in engaging all individuals, households, communities, and policymakers in creating a more perfect democracy.

Immigrants' rights are human rights

The League Stands with Immigrant Communities

The League of Women Voters of Wisconsin stands firmly in solidarity with Wisconsin's immigrant communities. Attacks on one of us is an attack on all of us. Wisconsin is stronger when our communities and families are brought together rather than divided. We must Unite & Rise to defend our democracy and stand up for the rights of ALL Wisconsinites.

Line 5 contested hearings update

The League of Women Voters of Wisconsin is proud to be represented by Midwest Environmental Advocates and stand with our friends at Sierra Club and 350 Wisconsin in opposition to the expansion of Line 5. We proudly stand with the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and support Native American Sovereignty.

The intention of the Rise and Unite 8.5 campaign is to defend democracy against the unconstitutional actions that are taking place at an alarming rate. We hope you will join us in this pivotal moment to protect our democracy. It is estimated that it takes 8.5 million voters to bring about change through nonviolent protest, this is a national movement.
