For the League's third event of the 2020 Issues Briefing series, LWVWI held a discussion on Government Policy. United States Senator Tammy Baldwin joined us as a guest speaker, and presented on the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. This event also covered redistricting.

On September 30, 2020, LWV of the Ripon Area and the Center for Politics and the People held a panel discussion on the historical and contemporary importance of the struggle to expand and protect suffrage in the United States. A Celebration of Voting

On Saturday, October 3, the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, the UW Odyssey Project and additional sponsors hosted a "Celebration of Voting." UW Odyssey and Odyssey Junior students read winning essays and poems on why they believe voting is important. Guest speakers also gave their remarks, and LWVWI answered practical questions from attendees at the end.

Wisconsin's Path Forward: Election and Redistricting

This virtual public issues forum showcases steps that must be taken to secure new voting district maps that are free of partisan bias. The General Election results are also reviewed with respect to moving toward Fair Maps for redistricting.

Growing Future Voters

"Growing Future Voters" is the focus of this Leagues of Women Votes of Janesville and Beloit program. Kelly Beadle of CIRCLE (Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement), Janesville Clerk-Treasurer Lori Stottler, and young Rock County voters explain the importance of increasing and broadening the participation of young voters in elections.

A Conversation About Voting Equity for People with Disabilities

This Facebook Live video was part of The Big Share 2022, a daylong fundraising event coordinated by Community Shares of Wisconsin. It features Denise Jess of the Wisconsin Council of the Blind & Visually Impaired, Barbara Beckert of Disability Rights Wisconsin and Eileen Newcomer of League of Women Voters; moderated by Joy Cardin. All three organizations are CSW members that work collaboratively to reduce barriers to voting for people with all disabilities through the WI Disability Vote Coalition.
