The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization encouraging the informed and active participation of citizens in government. It influences public policy through education and advocacy.

The LWV Hingham hosts regular Candidates Nights for Hingham voters to hear from candidates running for local office. The Candidates Night for the 2019 Hingham Town Election was held on April 10, 2019.

Harbor Media recordings are included for each event.

In order to engage voters early in the Annual Town Meeting legislative process, The LWV Hingham hosts an annual public review of the content of the Annual Town Meeting Warrant.

The forum gives citizens the opportunity to review Articles and ask questions. They can then follow up by attending Advisory Committee meetings at which the Advisory Committee will discuss its recommendations for the particular articles in which the citizens are interested.

Welcome to the “Well Informed Voter Calendar.” This is a month-by-month guide to key dates, resources for voters and processes for 2018 and 2019 including:

  • Town meeting
  • Town election
  • Primary Elections
  • General Elections

The calendar also suggests opportunities for citizens to get more involved in Town government.
