Equal Rights Amendment
During the 2018-2020 legislative session, LWVSC advocated in favor of S.901 and S.918, two resolutions in support of the Equal Rights Amendment. The resolutions received a subcommittee hearing before South Carolina’s four women senators, all of whom co-sponsored S.918. The bills progressed no further. Testimony in support was given on behalf of the LWVSC by Dr. Laura Woliver, Columbia League president and scholarly expert on women in politics and in particular women in South Carolina in political life.
